Blind man fights intruder

This man got my utmost respect. Way to go! It also proves how old wrestling skills can come in handy any day.

Story:
Indiana -- Wthr.com reported about a 49-year-old blind man who fought off an intruder Monday morning in Indianapolis.

Allan Kieta was reportedly having a day off and sleeping in when his dog Bella woke him up, letting him know something was wrong.

The home owner said the dog told him about a stranger in the house. And as he walked out of his bedroom, he ran right into the suspected burglar.

The men began fighting. "We fought maybe for 30 to 40 minutes - a long time," Mr Kieta said.

As the two men fought on the floor, Mr Kieta grabbed the intruder's belt, dragging him down the hall. According to reports he kept banging him against the walls to keep him disoriented and maintaining control.

"I was afraid if I let him up, he was going to kill me," Mr Kieta later told media. He used all his high school wrestling training to get the suspect to the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, the home owner grabbed for the knife. He fumbled with the phone, trying to dial 911.

"He was begging, like, 'Don't kill me. I'll dial it for you!'," Mr Kieta said. "I was, like, 'You are not touching the phone'!"

Police arrived to the home quickly to arrest the intruder, who was hospitalized following the incident.

'Flasher wrestling', assault

A 17-year-old son of a former police officer wrestled a "flasher" to the ground after the man allegedly exposed himself to his female friend. The karate black belt has now been arrested on suspicion of assault dailymail.co.uk reports.

Police initially arrested the man on suspicion of indecent exposure and took him in for questioning. He was released the next day without charge, and made a counter claim of assault.

The man is understood to have complained about scratches and bruises he suffered after being held on the ground.

Nude dude in Duluth

Don't mess with angry seniors... Not all of them are easy push-overs!

Story:
Minnesota - A man who allegedly tried to burglarize a home lost his clothes in a scuffle with the 69-year-old homeowner and then tried to streak away before he was arrested, News.yahoo.com reports.

The home owner said the man made the mistake of grabbing his wife. "As soon as he grabbed my wife, I had him in the kitchen wrestling him to the ground in a headlock and arm-lock," he said.

First, he ripped the man's shirt off. Then, "his head was down over the railing, and in today's world, pants are worn fairly loose. I pulled his pants, and his pants and underpants and shoes came completely off. He was completely nude."

When police asked if he could identify the suspect, he said: "Oh, yeah. I believe he's the only guy running nude in Duluth."

One tought customer

I'm not sure if this was the smartest thing to do. Still, I must say I'm impressed by this senior citizen!

Story:
A suspect, who was in his 20's, walked into a shop in North Nashville on Sunday night. Police say he held up the clerk, then turned the gun on a customer.

That customer, a 77 year old man, wrestled the gun away from the suspect and shot the suspect in the leg. The elderly man was not hurt.

(No rest) restaurant restroom

California -- A 26-year-old man entered a restaurant south of St. Helena, Napa Valley by the side door. This was on March 26. He then went straight to the women's bathroom and entered the back stall and removed his clothes.

A woman came into the bathroom and saw the suspect standing there naked. The attacker grabbed her and tried to pull her inside the back stall. The woman spun around and was able to break loose from his grip.

Her sweater got torn in the process. The woman ran from the bathroom.

Just as that was happening, a woman in another stall came out and the assailant grabbed her and tried to pull her into the back stall.

She was fighting him off when some men, who had heard the noise, came in and wrestled the man to the ground.

The woman who was in the stall heard the commotion between the man and the first woman, but thought it was just some girls playing around.

Both women had visible injuries to their arms, according to the report.

A scuffle

Pennsylvania -- Tuesday, two male York College students - who also happened to be on the wrestling team - got into a scuffle with three teenage boys. The two students were walking back to campus from the Tom's Exxon about 10:45 p.m. when the teens tried to rob them, Lehman said.

"In this case, they jumped the wrong two kids," he said. "They (the students) got some bumps and bruises, but they defended themselves pretty well," to the point that the three teens ran away.

Wrestled knife away

A 15-year-old girl stabbed and killed a man with his own knife last week in northern Moscow after he purportedly tried to rape her, investigators said.

Around 9 p.m. on a deserted platform at a commuter train station, the girl was apparently approached by a man who produced a knife. The man threatened to kill the girl if she screamed.

"It's my birthday, so you are going to make me happy," the man said, according to police sources.

The girl, who is a gymnast, kicked the man and ran, but she tripped moments later and was caught. The man snatched the girl's phone, and a scuffle ensued during which the girl wrestled the knife from the man and stabbed him in the back.

He had enough

There are some really strange individuals out there, that's for sure.

Story:
According to a report, 42-year-old James T. Hill of Shreveport, was walking when he was approached by two men.

But what struck Hill as most noteworthy, the report indicated, were the men's accessories: several handguns for the first robber, and one nickel-plated gun held by the second.

According to reports, Hill said he was approached by the men, who demanded his wallet at gunpoint. As he left after being robbed, the robbers ran after him, and he apparently had enough, the report said.

Hill told investigators he "commenced a martial arts kick" and knocked the gun out of one of the robbers' hands and started wrestling with his attackers.

According to the report, an unidentified man then left a nearby house, armed with a shotgun and threatened to shoot Hill. Hill fled on foot and went to a nearby convenience store to purchase a beer, reports continued, but the store was closed.

Knowing when to quit

There are times to fight and times to let it be - times to get going and times to pull out. Knowing the difference is crucial in any self-defense scenario.
One step short or one step to many, and you may end up on the receiving end of damage!

Story:
A motorist filling up at a gas station took a carjacker by surprise when she fought back in Orange County, Florida.

It was about 4 p.m. Sunday when a man demanded the keys to her van.

She struggled with the man over the keys and at one point was punched in the nose. After he wrestled the keys from her, the man started to drive away. The woman then jumped in.

According to the Sheriff's Office they drove to North Hastings and Huggins streets, where the man jumped out. The woman started to chase him when the man jumped back into the van and took off.
