Fork off!

A great example of using whatever is at hand to fight back.
It also shows that any weapon can be taken away from you. This goes for the perpetrator as well as the victim! In another recent attempted rape case from Colorado, the intended victim took the knife away from the attacker and fought back.

Story:
A South Peoria man was arrested Monday for allegedly trying to rape a 17-year-old girl, then firing a gun at her as she ran away from his house.

About 11 p.m. Sunday he lured the victim into his home, promising her that her girlfriend was inside. He then allegedly pushed her down, pulled off her pants and underwear, and tried to have sex with her. There was no penetration.

As the victim fought the man off, she grabbed a fork laying nearby and stabbed him repeatedly in the neck, police said. He then grabbed the fork from her and stabbed her in the right hand.

The girl was able to free herself from the man when he left to get his gun. As she ran down the alley, the assailant fired at her six times.

The girl "heard bullets go past her head," police said. She was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment.

The suspect was taken to a medical center for treatment of the fork wounds and later arrested there by police.
