Yes, sometimes "legging it" between somebodies big toes makes all the difference :-)
Still, it's quite dangerous to believe this is the one simple move to fend off any type of assault on your person.
I've personally witnessed someone being given a kick in the privates that would make any NFL kicker proud (and probably very worried too ... like I was). How this person was able to just stand there with a blank stare in his face is beyond me. Maybe a healthy doze of drugs did all the difference? Or maybe he's still standing there in chock some ten years later - I don't know :-)
I've also seen a couple of fights were the kicker missed, and I can tell you this much, it quickly went from bad to worse!
Story:
Japan -- A 70-year-old woman who was attacked on a street in Osaka managed to foil her would-be robber by kicking him in the crotch, police said.
At about 9 p.m., the attacker grabbed the woman from behind and covered her mouth before pushing her onto the ground in Osaka's Ikuno-ku, demanding money. However, he fled after the woman kicked him in the groin.
The man was about 165 centimeters tall and looked around 50 years old.
The woman told police that she used her right leg to administer the coup-de-grace as she has trouble moving her left leg.
